Mr Dad owned a Stave mill at Windsor Shades Virginia in the early Thirties. He made staves for the potato farmers on the Easter Shore of Virginia. I was always amazed at the many operatins that it took to make a stave.
: I was born on Meatscaffold at Stevenson
: 1936. I recall seeing the old stave
: mill on Quicksand creek or river back
: in the 40's. I saw it many a time when
: my father would take me to Jackson on
: the Conley bus. I don't recall a
: Quicksand village or town on that
: river. I guess it was gone before I
: was born. The old stave mill was
: popular for many years. Lots of things
: I don't recall since I never got out
: Meatscaffold very much. My father was
: Columbus "Lummie" Back. I
: love to reminesse on old times too.
: Those are my best memories. E-mail me
