I'm afraid I can not help with Buck McPhearson, but the Bloody Bucket is one of those places in my family lore. My great-grandfather had some sort of stake in it for a brief time in the early 1940's. He also frequented the Fuzzy Duck...which was located downtown...near the old feed store/doctor's office. My grandmother, Mabel Spencer Kimmel, is still living and knows more than I do. He also had a tavern/store in the Old Rock House, which still stands today. The family was in the Big Branch area in the 20's, 30's and 40's.
