Looking for a good Pontiac motor

I've got a '72 'Bird with a tired (and stock) Pontiac 350 (w/ a mild cam and 4 barrel carb installed) but prefer a larger engine. Pontiac 455's are hard to come by in my area (Monterey Bay, California) so I'd settle for a decent, solid 400 to build up. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
