1971 GP's serial # will not tell you if it came with 455. Generally SJ were equipped with 455's and J's had it as a extra cost option. A build sheet under door panels or under back seat would help you. Otherwise send serial # to PHS for documentation. Another good indicator would be a 12 bolt rear in the car as they came with 455's.
