Big Bud

I have a late 80's model Big Bud. What will the new ones do that my Big Bud won't do? Is modern technology advanced so much that I need to upgrade? If I decide I want a newer unit, what is my Big Bud worth? I haven't seen any for sale on ebay past or present.
