QD2 settings for wet sand

Any tips on how to set the Sensitivity / Discrimination for wet sand using the Bounty Hunter Quick Draw II? At low tide, I get good signals in the upper / harder packed wet sand however, when I get into the wetter sand, nearer the surf,(with black sand around) I get a lot of erratic unrepeatable tones both low and high. How do I make the right adjustments without losing the ability to pick up smaller gold items? Thanks, Joe
