Need help with batteries!!!!!

Hi All I have a question about the 9V batteries used in bounty hunters.... Bounty Hunter recommends using an Alkaline battery and nothing else. I would like to know if I could use some rechargeable 9 volt Ni-MH batteries in my BH QDII, and what rating should I use???? Any help anyone could offer me would be great Thanks Binx
