B., I though I posted I was thinking of getting back into detecting!! I actually started detecting in Corpus Christi about 30 years ago- worked Cole Park like I owned it, this was when the discrimination motion detectors first started coming out. I just got away from detection and thinking of getting back into it. If you hunt the parks, schoolyards, and beach for coins ( coinshooting) the main problem is pull tabs, with the newest detectors like this 505 they can ignore pull tabs and find coins. Remember though that lots of gold rings and some other gold items will read as a pull tab on detectors. Sounds like the auto tab feature, and making sure detector reads the same way each time you pass over coins will save a lot of junk digging.
