O yea, the answer to your question is that no, no leds lightup at all. Cant distinguish the type of metal in all-metal mose. Guess this is where the discrimination comes in. I just push the auto-notch button. I have found coins about 6 inches deep so far. I think the size of the coil really determines the depth I think. You can upgrade to the 10" coil with the 505.
