Hi JD. Nope, your wife definitely
did no wrong with the Time Ranger!
It is a "sleeper", being one of the
best numeric/audio ID detectors around
today. Plus, BH improved it even
more this year by replacing the 2
9V batteries with 2 C-cells, which
give it longer battery life and
improve the overall efficiency of
the very advanced circuit. Another plus is the quite large LCD screen, the only one
of its size of all the makes. It's very
easy to see and read.
as you learn to use its great
potential. One thing you might do
however, is call the factory and
ask for a tech engineer for info. on whether or not to send it in for
special tuning to the 10" coil (if
you get one). The large coil is
great for deeper targets but the
Ranger series may require factory
tuning.The unit you have may
have already been factory tuned, but
coil windings can vary and your 10"
may have to be tuned to your unit. You
should have no trouble with the 8" coil
it came with though.
Be sure to hold on to the box your
T.R. came in, for shipping use.
accept/reject at different
discriminate levels and how to best
utilize the no-motion all metal mode
for searching & pinpointing.
The T.R. will work wonders for you
once you master it.
Good Luck & Merry Christmas!
