Hi Ilana,
As a royalty reader of many many years (I started with "Nicholas and Alexandra" when it first came out) I waited for your book with much eagerness. I find it absolutely fascinating.
I really enjoy reading the letters that passed between the various parties, especially those from Princess Irene to Queen Mary. Despite all the wars and tragedies the closeness established years before still remained.
My one question is regarding the deaths of Grand Duchess Elizabeth and the others.
Is the story of them living for some time after being thrown down the mine shaft true or did all die from the gun butts and the fall?
Different books say different things.
Once again your book is a marvel.
