Posted by julesr I got a lot of advice from my step-mom when I was in high school. It was mostly unasked for, but I heard the truth in her words. Even though my stubborn Robinson nature raged against it, I heard her, and it made a difference, eventually. I knew she supported me in any decision I made, but it was good to have an ally when it came to the tough ones. The hardest thing to grapple with is Free Will. Because, ultimately, it is up to you to make your life what you want, even in the face of adversity and anger. You are right that he has to choose. It might not have an impact right away, but it will give him something to chew on. Couch it in love and respect and it should go over well.

I would tell the boy because who knows if he'll hear that anytime from anyone in the next few years.
