Posted by catie on 9/27/2004, 3:04 pm it's been my experience that marriage is no place for romance. it's a place for love and joy and fun and laughs and disappointment and smelly farts, but the idea of romance just makes you feel like maybe what you've got isn't enough. i'm a much happier and satisfied person since i gave up my romantic ideas about marriage. because the truth is, at least for me, love through the years is a lot more about andy getting the oil changed in my car for me and a lot less about kissing in the rain.

i'm a firm believer that romantic ideas about just about everything should be banished from the world because it screws us up.
