It is true that many published sheets are not created in the keys of the recordings, most probably because of pianists transposing to their preferred keys - Tim is correct. I've found it to be very common. I played a song once with Bob that was originally recorded in "E", and Bob had sheet music in "C". We solved it by Bob putting a capo on the 4th fret, which gave it a broader sound - in fact, I found it to be a better way to play it, when solo!
