This was the taping after which Bob Shane drove his car thru the front door of the Beverly Gardens Hotel where we were staying. (I think it's OK to tell that story - it is a matter of public record.)
I had a moment of angst watching this, because I so wish I hadn't sold that banjo I was playing. It was a 1928 Vega Griffin Whyte Laydie. One of many fine instruments I've owned over the years that I wish I hadn't parted with. I wonder who's playing her now?
