John and Nick took me aside and asked for my opinion of their plan to reassemble the Stewart Trio for either a special performance or a string of reunion shows. I told them that as a fan of the group I would be thrilled to see them pursue this and I wouldn't stand in the way of it.
To be honest, I was kind of in awe of the fact that they would have the courtesy to address this matter with me privately. But that was the extent of the encounter. Nick never gave me any pointers, altho we became good friends from that day on. And Bob Shane, being loyal to the personnel he'd assembled at the time, would not have considered a reunion without involving George and me in some capacity.
