Re: Brothers Four harmony
When we were working out vocal arrangements we divided into two sections to start with - Frogs and Angels was the term we used. Dick and I were the Angels (high parts) and John and Bob Flick were the Frogs (low parts). Yes, there were 4 separate parts in some songs, but I think (don't know because I wasn't a Frog) there were times when Dick and I would split in thirds and Bob and John would sing unison on a low part. Milt Okun pretty much defined the Brothers Four sound with his vocal arrangements. The juxtaposition of unison sections splitting off into harmony was a trademark. Bob Flick's voice really dominated the low end - he has a very distinctive sound.
