In reviewing the past three threads they're all related to holidays (Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving and now Christmas.) The year has really flown by. What do I have to show for it? Another year older and another 5 pounds heavier. Dang. The year older doesn't bother me so much, cuz what can ya do? This year I've been delighting in singing that old Beatles song: "Will ya still need me - will ya still feed me - when I'm 64?" Next year I get Medicare. Assuming Obama hasn't trashed the system by then.
But it's that extra 5 pounds that really bothers me. Cuz I can do something about that. "Will I?" is the question. With the best of intentions I'll hit 2011 with same old New Year's Resolution: lose weight, eat right, exercise, stay healthy, live long and prosper.
And that's just for starters. I also hope to finish at least one of the books I'm writing during the coming year. I'm now in touch with quite a few published authors who have offered me assistance with various aspects of my literary career. So that will be one of my major goals for 2011. It may be an exercise in futility, though, as the Mayans are saying the world will end in 2012. Hardly time to get the book published and into the hands of readers. Well - I'm still gonna do it just to say I did.
For now, let me just say Mele Kalikimaka, Buon Natale, Kurisimasu Omodeto, Joyeax Noelle, etc. In other words Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
