Roger - your youth is showing. Yes, indeed, gas was 28 cents a gallon in my lifetime. And then they'd have gas wars where stations across the street from each other would keep dropping the price below their competitor, a penny at a time. I remember a few times when gas was as low as 17 or 18 cents a gallon during some of those events.
