I know I'm a little late with this suggestion, since the show has past, but this is a great patriotic song that no one plays . I know you heard Bob Shane tell the story of 'I'm Going Home' over a thousand times, but the song that it ripped off was a theme from a Broadway musical 'The Land of Milk and Honey'. The chord structure is a little more Broadway than Folk, but it defininely strkes a patriotic chord. And because the Kingston Trio still performs 'Im Going Home', you can quote Paul Harvey with ' The Rest of the Story'. Just don't play the second verse ( as you wouldn't the 4th and 5th verses of 'This Land Is Your Land'). Eddie Fisher recorded it 1966 and just repeated the first verse several times. It is a very effective patriotic tune.
