Apologies for not checking in here recently. I've been up to my neck in HOA business, which I'm pretty much sick of at this point. I thought I could bring our neighborhood together after some serious controversy last fall, but it's only gotten worse. My term is just about up and I'll be glad to be done with it and get back to what I do best - write and perform music!
Lately I've been rehearsing some new material for the Mountain Music Festival coming up in a couple weeks. Although I still have not heard anything about whether or not I'm on the bill this year, or for that matter, whether or not the event is even happening, I'm still preparing my sets. I'm having a lot of fun working up some songs that I've never recorded - songs that are more recent that haven't been played much. I'm using Josh Fuller's tiple on a couple of these, which is really a cool sound. And I'm going to use my Yamaha 12-string on several tunes this year too.
So, I'm looking forward to our annual rendezvous in Manitou Springs. Even if the Festival doesn't happen I might just show up and jam in the park. I'm hankerin' for a taste of Manitou spring water anyway.
