Maybe that's because we don't discuss the Octo-Mom, the new Star Trek movie or who's been eliminated on "American Idol." But I don't really mind.
It seems too often that posts involve the passing of legends and old friends. I find that sad, but the world at large has often ignored the contributions of great folk musicians, so if we don't commemorate them, who will?
I truly doubt any media news "2009 in Review" will remark on the passing of Travis Edmonson any more than the 2008 shows mentioned John Stewart and Nick Reynolds. So it's up to us to do the remembering.
And I guess I really don't mind if that's all we have to share sometimes.
But for the short time this message board was off-line, I was a bit concerned. To be sure, losing my job the first of May and dealing with ensuing repercussions was my first priority; I'll blame it on survival instinct. But I had in my mind to contact Bob & Meri by some other means as soon as circumstances allowed.
I feared that the loss of the board might be a cost of the present economy and wondered if the Haworths were okay, even though "No news is good news" was close to a family rule for me.
All that said, I'm glad to see we're up and running again. Have you got time for a "What's been Happening" update, Bobby? Or maybe "What's Coming this Summer?" Anymore political events like the Tea Party? Stop by when you can.
P.S. I really did enjoy the Star Trek movie.
