Bob, believe me when I tell you that I was at least as honored to accompany you and Josh as you might have been to have on board (or, rather, on stage) with you.
And your observation about the difference between the "folkies" and the dulcimer folk at the festival is on the money. I'll admit to being uncomfortable with trying to jam with the likes of Robert Force. I'm not a schooled musician--can't even read music, though I can follow vocal lines and harmonize very well. So when those guys jam, I can't really find a banjo groove. I know what I can play well, but I also know my own limitations. I admire what Dave can do on the bass, but I can't wrap my own head around it enough to make it work for me as a performer.
Oh, well. My loss, I guess. Maybe some day I'll hire myself out as house banjo player at the MMF. Wait--I already do that, don't I, with Cripple Creek and you and Josh. No money, though.
But it was one hell of a good musical weekend. Thanks for letting me share the stage with you.
