Thanks for posting this, Mickey. Tom did a nice job of summing up how many of us feel at this moment. What can we say? What can we do? The memory of the many special moments we spent with John - even the moment when he chewed my ass for writing a new verse to "Heart Of A Kid" - keep flooding my head, and I miss him.
I turn to his music now to find out what I missed when he was with us. And, man - I missed a lot. It puts me in mind of my own mortality and that of the people who are close to me. Sometimes we don't know what we missed 'til it's gone. Today is a day to celebrate the people in my life and pay attention to what I've been missing. I guess that's one thing that death does for us - it gives us true perspective.
By the way, Mickey - I missed you at my JS Tribute show last week. I wanted to say "hi". So I'll say it now - "Hi". And thanks again for passing along Tom's account of John's memorial service.
