For Mickey and anyone else in the Denver area, I suggested to Swallow Hill that a John Stewart tribute show would be appropriate, as John has performed at Swallow Hill on many occasions. They did express interest in doing this, but not until summertime. I then suggested that we do it in late August in order to include Dave Batti, who will be in Colorado for the Mountain Music Festival in Manitou Springs at that time.
In the meantime, I plan to do my own mini-tribute to John this Saturday. I'm performing at the Ironworks Brewery in Lakewood starting around 7:00 PM and I'll be doing a bunch of John's songs and reminiscing about some of my great times with John over the years. There's no cover charge and I'll welcome anyone else who would like to pay tribute to John with a song or two.
The Ironworks Brewery is located at 12354 W. Alameda Parkway, at the back of the parking lot behind US Bank and McDonald's. They brew their own and they also have a new menu featuring home-made pizza that is to die for! All toppings are fresh cut for each individual order. So come on out this Saturday and we'll raise a glass to John's legacy!
