Somebody asked: "is it true?" - "could it all be a rumor?" -- sadly "no."

Bob Shane posted the following on KT Web page:

"Our dear friend and brother in music, John Stewart, passed away last nite or early this morning. God is with him. We truly loved him and will miss him immensely." Bob [Shane].
