Stanley, you felt that your point of view was so important that you had to post it twice here to make sure it was seen. You hoped to spark some dialog, which you did. But dialog involves conversation back and forth. I and several others have responded to your statements with logical and unconfrontational remarks. We are waiting for you to come back to this discussion and defend your point of view. If you are unable to do so, if the logic of what I and others have written has made you see the light, then just come back and say so, or respond privately to me via e-mail, I don't care. You don't even have to humble yourself with an apology - just acknowledge that I was right. If you still stand by your statements and you think that I'm wrong in what I've said and you truly believe that my music is racist, devisive and hate-filled, then have the guts to come out and explain why you feel that way. By the way, let me tell you about how Scott Murphy's action, because my music was so hurtful to him that he had to have me fired, has affected nearly 100 people in a ripple effect out from me. I have a group of friends, many of whom go to our church, that came regularly on the Thursday nights when I performed at the Atlanta Bread Company. Because this was a restaurant setting, not a bar, it was a comfortable atmosphere for families. We had all ages in attendance, from kids to grandparents. I have received so many calls from these folks asking when and where I'll be performing so they can bring their families for more fun evenings like we've been enjoying at The Atlanta Bread Company. All of these people have been hurt by Scott Murphy's actions. Perhaps you should write to him and admonish him about considering how other people might feel about his actions. I never intended for any of my music to be hurtful to anyone, and I still cannot understand how it might have had that effect on Murphy or on you (assuming you're not one and the same). But I wonder if he ever considered the hurt he was causing by his own actions. Among others, I have a 9-year old boy and his 7-year old sister who actually cried when they found out they couldn't come to my show at ABC anymore. How do you feel about that? Do Murphy's hurt feelings justify causing the hurt feelings of all these other people who enjoy my music and, by the way, agree with my point of view on border security? Whatever happened to the rule of the majority? Ya know, I certainly didn't attack Murphy personally, as he did me and all my friends. Nor did I, as he claims, attack any ethnic group with my music. (Did you read my analysis of the lyrics to "Pizza For Pesos"?) So, Stanley, please - let's hear back from you. You opened the door to this discussion - why won't you participate?
