As mentioned in Mr. Webmaster's post below, Rob Rudloff, owner of the Lakewood, Colorado, restaurant known as The Atlanta Bread Company, has finally caved in to pressure from a teacher at Arvada Senior High School who demanded that I be terminated. At issue was the performance of several songs pertaining to our government's refusal to enforce and protect our borders, as well as some other comedy material that can hardly be considered offensive to anyone. The teacher, Scott Murphy, lectured his 10th grade English class on the fact that, after hearing me perform one evening, he'd written a letter to Atlanta Bread Company to demand my termination. He told the class that I am a racist and play only racist and offensive music. He spent class time on subsequent days to update the students on his success in having me fired. Courageously, a student in his class and his mother contacted us to inform us of the diatribe Mr. Murphy was carrying on about me in his class. They are both extremely upset at what Mr. Murphy has been allowed to say about me. The class has never had the opportunity to hear my songs or read my lyrics, but they were expected to accept Mr. Murphy's judgement of me on his word alone. The Jefferson County School District issued a statement that Mr. Murphy did not speak for the District but he was exercising his right to free speech. Ironic! He was using his right to free speech to squelch mine. What's wrong with this picture?!!! If you'd like to voice your opinion on this matter, here are several options: Check my home page for radio stations where I'll be interviewing and call in to put in your two (or more) cents' worth. Call your own local talk radio program and tell them about this outrageous story. I'm happy to inteview with anyone. Contact Rob Rudloff at The Atlanta Bread Company: Contact Jefferson County Schools: It's time we Americans stand up for what's right in this country! This Murphy guy thinks he can shut me up by getting me fired? He only made me louder and madder. I've had over 11,000 hits on this site in the past 4 days - that's already half of my average monthly activity. Looks like people are starting to pay attention! Thanks to everyone for your support through this ordeal!
