Lightfoot pronounces it "Somewhere near Sal-EYE-ness, Lord" instead of "Sal-ee-ness."

Well, I'm not sure Janis botched the lyric as much as she creatively re-interpreted a straight 4/4 song as Kristofferson wrote it into the bluesier version she released.
