I've been enjoying lurking here since Bob started up the board, and there have been some really interesting and genuinely informative discussions. John Lee's outstanding synopsis below (culled from his even more extensive knowledge of all things KT) is a great example. I've been meaning to post this message for a couple of months but have delayed doing so in part because so many of the posters here also read and write on Kingston Crossroads and thus likely already know about these videos. But just in case anyone here doesn't - When our Chilly Winds trio played for the first time in August 2005 at Colorado's Mountain Music Festival - an event at which Bob has been a regular over the years - Bob graciously agreed to join us onstage (with dulcimer legend Robert Force, everybody's good friend and festival co-founder Tom Ivey, and protean and indefatigable bassist Dave Batti) for impromptu renditions of folk classics "You Ain't Goin' Nowhere" and "Take me Home, Country Roads." Bob took the stage with an autoharp and sang lustily on the choruses while Meri snapped some memorable pictures. It's all caught on the videos linked below. Bob's not doing the lead, but you can hear him and his autoharp pretty clearly at points. It'd be great to have some pure Haworth uploaded to YouTube - and he's had some great moments at the last two Mountain Music Festivals that I hope are on video somewhere - but until that happens, I hope you'll enjoy these! Too bad we don't have some video from the jam at The Ancient Mariner from Saturday night at the last MMF - Michael Johnson, dulcimerists Force and Bing Futch, Josh Fuller, and lots of other folks backed up Bob on several numbers, and he played along on virtually everything for about 2 1/2 hours. We'll have to bring video cams next August!
