If you're interested in hearing your new-found relative's playing, you'll probably have to settle for hearing him play on an album by some other artist (to the best of my knowledge, he doesn't have an album of his own). Among my personal favorites: He (Rick, your namesake) seems to be almost the ideal studio guitarist, but I too would be curious to see what he might come up with on his own if he tried. One source (other than Amazon.com, where the prices are outrageous) for some of these artists is Archambault (http://www.archambault.ca). Remember, the prices there are in Canadian dollars, so they're not as bad as they might seem at first... Happy hunting!
* Anything by Michel Rivard (songwriter/performer, to me somewhat reminiscent of Al Stewart). Try either "Le goût de l'eau" or "Maudit Bonheur".
* Almost anything by Daniel Bélanger (very original musical style, bordering on progressive), esp. the albums "Quatre Saisons...", or "Rêver Mieux", which may be one of the most unusual albums of any genre I've ever heard, although I'm not sure Rick appears on it. I'd avoid "Déflaboxe" for the time being - a bit too weird even for my tastes, which are extensive.
* Laurence Jalbert (sort of a Québecois Janis Joplin, but with a somewhat sweeter voice). I like her earlier stuff better, but it's all good.
* Yves Lambert (if you like traditional Québecois music, similar to Celtic and Acadian styles).
