Hi Ned Thanks for the thoughts. One of the things that piss's me off more than anything is that I wanted the old 3.9 to be re-built, tophat liners etc, etc, but thought that I would avoid anymore problems by buying a new block and building on that, it was'nt to be. I have had to pull out the motor and I stripped it down to try to find the problem, got as far as leaving the cam, big ends, mains and pistons untouched, but did find swarf in the cam shaft oil gallery recess and as I might have already said heaps of sludge and swarf in the sump. The motor has to be freighted back to Victoria to have an autopsy done and find out what went wrong. I'll keep you all posted.
