Pat that is no bloody good at all Can i please ask that when you have gone can I please have the motor and also if not to much trouble the Rangie? I mean to say it needs another good home after you have left us No on a more serious note I really feel for you as it not an easy job of swapping motors as I am doing this right now. but having a new motor only to find out its stuffed is really low. I wonder if it was cleaned out properly after the engine was machined. scrubbed and washed out with detergent to remove all the oil and swarf from the machining process. Was this a full long motor or an exchange block or out of the crate from england? Who is paying for all this removal and stripdown? I hope its not you. Please keep us all updated with the outcome and progress as I am very keen to hear what happened and why. Chin up and if you are going to buy the missus another car why not look for a disco or something now and when the rangie is going again sell the disco that way you wont have withdrawl symptoms. Cheap ones are out there especially on ebay! You just have to look.
