Go for it Ned.
The thing that I found, was in order to make the whole system fool proof I needed to upgrade the axles. I had such a good relationship with the wrecking yards in respect to obtaning replacement units that I was on first name term with them, boy I destroyed some axles (with the diff locks)because of the fact that the standard Rover units could not stand up to the stress when placed on them while lifting one wheel off the ground on the same axle and having the other still driving in very difficult conditions.
One other reason for upgrading was that the wreckers were running out of axles as well.
I Maxied the front as well but then found that the weak point was the CV joints and it wasn't until I,d broken a few of these that I was made aware by Mal Story that you should try to avoid steering over 10 Degrees with the front locker on where rocky ground traction conditions apply.
