Ned why is it not possible?
you can weld anything on to the 84 housing to suit the new housing as this is how I originally got my maxidrive rear. It was from a 73 model but had been modified to fit into a 90 model. Ie the shock mounts were reversed etc etc. I now have removed the 73 housing and fitted the maxidrive to my 89 housing , but I bought all the jigs and mounting block before Mal closed up. Hy tuff are now doing the maxi axles but I don't know if they are doing the centers or have the mounting jigs and blocks so u can start fresh on an install.
The reason I removed the 73/ modified to 90 housing was due to the rear plate leaking/cracked and I welded it twice.

    : I have a maxi drive in my old '84, and I

: it's not really possible. So it looks like
    : an ARB locker.
