    Thanks Zorba

I actually bought some mounts and rebuild kit for the valve block ( yet to fit ) from this fellow .

The postage was cheaper and quicker that i can often get thing from here .

Had another long think about it and the only thing that made sense and which had been disturbed was the thermal cutout in the motor .

So the dill that dismantled the pump motor is at fault so self inflicked .

I have it seems upset the thermal cutout some how , don`t know how but it was working before and not right now it seems .

I joined an earth wire to the orange wire and now the pump runs as it should .

In my case one advantage of the classic type set up it the air intake can be heard from inside the car near the back quarter panel .

So just from now the back seat passengers are going to be the thermal cut out for the pump motor or if i can hear it me but my ears don`t work too good anymore .

Also think i`ve found a place in the US that can supply an external thermal cut out but only a quick look so not certain .

I remember someone having trouble with one awhile back ?

Again thanks for the interest , there doesn`t seem to be alot of late , i considered posting on aulro but it just doesn`t work for me though i don`t mind helping there occasionally .

    Cheers

    : G'day Peter
: Not sure what I'd do in a similar situation
: but if you can have both units dismantled
    : and do a side-by-side comparison you'd
: probably get a good idea from a physical
    : point of view.
: Similarly and if possibly while each is
: connected (one at a time obviously), get out
: the old multimeter and take as many readings
    : as you think necessary.
: Take as many photos at each stage (before
: and after type) as you can so as to minimise
    : any
    : 'mistakes in reassembly'.
: Also, as a final suggestion, have a look
    : here -
    : http://rover-renovations.blogspot.com - his
: name is Dennis (Shupack on the RR.net
: forum), probably the most knowledgeable
: person that I'm aware of)on EAS issues.
: Hope this helps - I'll be interested in your
    : results.

    : G`day all,
: From the other post pumps back in but won`t
    : switch on.
: If i disconnect the ECU plug and jump pins 1
: and 8 the pump runs.
: All the fuses related a good.
: Have earthed the thermal cutout on the pump
    : and still no good.
: The pressure switch is open circuit so it
: shouldn`t be tell the pump not to run.
: Ran the pump for about 8 minutes, jumping
: pins, reconnected the ECU, started the car
: and it rose off its resting place to std
: height, pushed the button and it went up to
: higher level. Took it for a drive, the
: lower highway setting light came on.
: When home and out it leveled its self.
: So everything seems to be working as it
: should except the compressor won`t run.
: I guess I`ll have to pull the box off again
: and see if there`s something I`ve mucked up
: and I guess check the valve block
    : driver/wires/connector and I think I can see
: another pressure switch on the valve block
: and if there is make sure its not connected
: though there is no current on pin 13 on the
    : ECU plug.
: Any ideas would be helpful as I`ve pretty
: much run out just now.
    :
    :
    : Cheers
