    G`day Zorba ,

Was just about to do another post also i didn`t mention the other end of the motor , being the brush end runs a bush and it had pretty much no wear nothing like enough to replace but the bearing was no good and had up and down movement and noise .

So a bearing the pump end and bush the brush end

Can`t do pics the pumps on the 94 and don`t have one off a P38 but there is a pump from a P38 winging it`s way to me from the coast of gold .

So i`ll know within a week ( i hope ) if the answer is yes , in which case i`ll use it and if the answers no , i`ll still make use of what ever parts are the same .

    Cheers

    : G'day Peter
: A couple of pics would really help.

    : Hi All
: The Compressor on our 94 has been a bit
: noisy of late, which i put down to mounts or
    : rubbing.
: Changed the mounts for P38 mounts, noise
: still there and not touching.
: Tracked it down to the (may be something to
: know)..6201 twin sealed .. bearing that is
: on the front/pump end of the compressor
    : motor.
    : It has had a piston/rod/sleeve fitted a
: couple of yrs ago by the previous owner.
: I broke 1 of the brushes when putting it
: together in a rush and not taking enough
    : care.
: Made another 1 out of an old brush from the
: old starter from the '85, filed into shape.
: The above is only the lead into my question.
: Other than the P38 compressor being mounted
: upside down in comparison to the classic
: type and the P38 type using 3 mounts where
: the classic type uses 4, are the units the
: same thing with different detachable end
: plates, well 1 ends the same and 1s not?
    : Not clear?
: Both compressors have what seem to be the
: same plate for the 2 mounts on 1 end.
: On the other END 1 compressor has a plate
: that is able to support 1 other mount and 1
: compressor has a plate that is able to
    : support 2 other mounts.
: On this END of both compressors are these
: plates interchangeable thus making it
    : possible to convert a P38 type 3 mount
: compressor into a Classic type 4 mount
: compressor and the other way around.
    : Cheers
    : Peter
