I have a 01 Disco, TD5, with 416,000km, i'm fairly happy with the reliability and would look at buying another one with less km's. I broke a mainshaft in the manual gearbox, and the teeth on the high range selector are fairly worn, so the transfer case might need some work soon too. The car is used both on and off road and regularly tows a trailer. Problems I've had (other than gearbox), alternator regulator, fan bearing, small coolent lines have become very brittle, electric window motors and i'm in the process of replacing the rear brake rotors, pads and calliper pistons. And the ETC and ABS are nothing but a pain in the backside offroad. Otherwise this is a good car and the reliablilty has been far better than my 85 rangie.
