    Thanks for your reply Bradot, I am curious as to why a total rebuild would be necessary and I must admit that I am pretty ignorant to the detailed side of the design of the TD5 motor. I was thinking that if this problem happened, it was similar to water getting into the oil via a blown head gasket and all that need to be done was fix the head gasket, drain the oil, change the filter, put in new oil and away you go.
    Apparently Not So, but why?
