Well I can't say I have ever had real problems with water in the dizzy / coil in my Rangie and it spends a few hours in rivers...

Anyway, one of the comments in that offroad express is wrong... the voltage from the reluctor in to the primary side of the HEI module does get very high, at idle it may be 20-30 volts but once you get up to 4000 rpm it is well close to 200v peak to peak, you may not see this with a meter but an 'scope will show you that. Get water on the primary side and you will have problems.....

Now who was who said they run their rover to 4000rpm, not a good idea if you want to keep the engine in one bit, in my case with the Crow torque cam, there is nothing left at 4000rpm, I rev limint at 4500 and cut at 5000 and think they are both high....

If you really want to get rid of water on dizzy/coil issuse may be a direct fire system is what you need, yes water will stop it, but there is more of it so you need water in more places to kill it completely, not like a dizzy which takes very little.

Once I get rid of my kitset discovery and a few other projects I can turn my attentation back to megasquirt and 4 coils and get rid of my dizzy...

    Max
