Well I guess that has cleared that up- that had not even occurred to me as a possibility, although now that I have been reminded, I seem to recall someone else asking the same question on here and getting the same answer a couple of years ago. I was thinking it must be some essential piece of electronics- at least now I know I can recover that space should I ever need it for something more important than doof-doof. I do, however, intend to keep this vehicle in as original nick as possible, as it is a treat to drive after my highly stuffed-around-with 88 model.
I loaded a few CDs into the stacker the other day and was disappointed to find that the non-original CD/MP3 player in the car is not connected to it. I'll have to see whether I can rectify that- it is a pioneer unit so I think it should be possible.

: quarter, opposite the spare wheel. Can
: anyone tell me what the heck it is?
