Reasoning:- An engine at operating temperature and decent revs will put up with all sorts of mixture problems ... the cold engine has the choke to support it ... it's only the warm engine which is really super sensitive to mixture. I suppose you're getting your hands dirty already, but anyway ... I'd be looking at a small air leak, maybe carb flange, maybe plumbing, even inlet manifold gasket.
