I've been starting at 4am for a few years now and I reckon the old girl still starts better than me!!

I might just frighten her and change the oil and filter etc this weekend. It's been better the last few days so it may well heve just been a bad batch of fuel. Believe it or not, even I have been known to have a little miss and backfire after a bad batch of fuel......

    Catch ya later Pete.

    : G`day sneezy
    :
: I`d say the problem is going to work
: at that time of the morning , maybe
: she`s getting old and likes to stay
    : in bed longer .
    :
: I`d suggest you try staying in bed a
: bit longer and see if she`s
    : receptive .
    :
: Or i guess it could be an air leak
: or the needle and seat may be
: playing up but i`d check the oil
: level in the dampers first .
    :
: Diaphrams faults can cause and less
    : power and better economy
    :
: Being that the morning air is
    : probably colder and thicker/moister
    : , don`t know .
    :
: Could be a combination of taking her
: to Sydney and back and waking her
: too early and she`s got a bit of a
: cold and she`s just letting you know
    : that she`s still the boss .
    :
    : Cheers , pete .

    : Gidday guys,
    :
: My carbie 83 3.5 has just started to
: do something weirdish. In the
: mornings when I get to work, the car
: just dies as I pull up to the
    : boomgate. It's about a 13km drive to
: work at 3.30am. Car is warm but not
: hot. Choke off by then. It's ok in
: the arvo and when it's hot.
    :
: What are the symptoms of a diaphram
: failure or one on the way out? Would
: it run better when hot or ordinary
    : all the time?
    :
: Was thinking of changing the carb to
: the cold setting although I have
: never had to do this in 8 yrs so
: think this would be not necessary.
    :
: Aircleaners are not old. Haven't
: done any dusty or off road stuff for
: ages. Went to Sydney 3-4 weeks ago
: and was getting an average of 14lts
    : per 100km at 105-110km/h. Fuel
: filter isn't that old either.
    :
: Any thoughts happily received before
: I start to get my hands dirty.
    :
    : regards,
    : sneezy
