In answer to your question, I knew Audra socially for years. We were performing in Broadway shows at the same time: she was in CAROUSEL while I was doing DAMN YANKEES, and then she was doing MASTER CLASS when I was in HOW TO SUCCEED.... Plus, we lived in the same neighborhood at the time, so we'd ride the subway together to our respective shows. She has always been an incredibly friendly and gracious woman. She came to know my music because of our mutual friend, the conductor and director, Ted Sperling. Ted and I have known each other since 1984, and he has always been a great champion and supporter of my work as a composer. If you hear someone singing my music, it is probably because Ted sent it their way. :-) Ted became Audra's musical director, and he played "I Won't Mind" for her, and the rest is history. The Millay songs followed. Obviously, I'm very honored that she is singing my songs. I'm a huge fan of Audra's, onstage and off, and I feel lucky to be included in her current song list. Jeff
