Do you have any advice for a 15-year-old girl from Virginia who wants to sink her teeth into Broadway after high school? I've already performed or done backstage work in twenty productions in my area - and many friends and strangers tell me I could make it. It's my dream to perform on Broadway. I have a three octave range and I do mostly comedy - but while acting as a stand-in for Helen Keller in THE MIRACLE WORKER in September at my community theatre (auditioned, but too old) - the director (who rarely gives out compliments as I found out) said to me, "Why can't we just put you in a dryer, shrink you, and let you do this part?" And I've come to find out that the only reason why I've been rejected from an audition sometimes (our directors at the theatre always tell us why unless we just weren't good enough)is that I was either too young or too old. My mother tells me I'm too sensitive to make it, but I think I could make it anyway. Do you have any advice for me?
