Jeff--I've been a fan of yours for a long time because of how much I adore the "I Don't Mind" track from How Glory Goes. I saw reference to your podcast in a news article this summer when I was in the States, found your site, and bookmarked it. It wasn't until I returned to my home in Khartoum, Sudan, (I am teaching here for two years) that I actually found the podcast and started downloading. I can't tell you how much I appreciate it and appreciate you for doing this! I am thoroughly enjoying hearing these songs that I haven't had the chance to hear before, from these wonderful artists, some of whom I have seen and others that I haven't been familiar with yet. Khartoum is a city under strict Islamic (sharia) law, so there is very little in the way of cultural performances. Dancing is forbidden, and live music is very rare. No theater, no symphonies, and certainly no Victoria Clarks or Emily Skinners anywhere!!
(Well, if they are here, they are hiding out...) Basically, I am using your podcast as my cultural dose, and I am enjoying it so much. I do have my keyboard here, but the mail is so unreliable that I don't think I can order your book, so that will have to wait until I return to the States next summer. I might try to pick some songs out without the music though...we'll see. Anyway, please keep it up because your audience of one in the desert around the world is enjoying it SO very much! Thank you!
