So I am getting one or two eggs a day since last Thursday! Boy is this exciting or what? I am so proud of my girls. We know for sure that one of the layers is a RIR named Annie...Judd discovered her the other day just after she laid an egg. What a good girl!
Anyway....my question is, can we eat an egg that sat in the coop for possibly up to 30 hours? The temp in the coop was probably not over 50º.
We were gone over the weekend, and my FIL checked the chicks on Saturday, putting two eggs in my fridge. These eggs may have been laid Friday morning, meaning it could have been up to 30 hours before they were refrigerated. The eggs got mixed up, and I don't know which ones my FIL put and which ones I know I put...ya see what I'm saying?
Mom says she remembers when she was a girl on the farm, they always had eggs sitting out on the counter. And I know the eggs from the store are OLD!!! Sooooooooo....how long can an egg wait before it is refrigerated?
