I'll be the first to admit that fresh mesclun from the garden is nice,
but it isn't noteworthy. But homegrown outside... in November... in
zone 5? This is a first for me. In September I tossed some leftover
seeds in a clay pot full of garden soil and covered the mix on a few
frosty nights. Our just-picked salad seemed like a treat tonight.
