We looked certain for relegation going into the Wolves away match this time last year. Just beaten 8v0 at home, second from bottom on just 11 points from 14 games.
Fast forward 1 year exactly and we sit 6th in the table after a solid start on 24 points from 13 games! Potentially after Saturday we could be 16 points better off than the same point last season.
This is on the back of Rowett and his team somehow dragging us up to a 10th place finish by May 15.
This has been an absolutely astonishing turn around not only in results but we are actually playing some decent football.
Attendances are up 3000 on last season as well and hopefully against Wolves we can get up over the 20k mark.
What makes this even more remarkable is that we are looking at 7 out of 11 players regularly in the first team now from the pre-Rowett era. Just goes to show that the players were always good enough but just very very poorly managed.
Well done Gary, the back room staff and the players, if this is what you can achieve in a year with next to no money I would love to see what he could do in this division even with just £5m! Keep it up Blues!!
