Embattled Birmingham City supremo Carson Yeung is “personally’ involved in preliminary talks to sell the cash-strapped club, acting chairman Peter Pannu has revealed.
The troubled former hairdresser was said to be staging early discussions with what Pannu called “some buyers” from Asia.
But Pannu insisted no deal was imminent.
And he added that Yeung felt an immediate “full disposal” of the club would hinder his plans to relist Blues’ parent company, Birmingham International Holdings Ltd, on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
Asked whether Yeung, who is embroiled in a £60 million money laundering trial in the Far East, planned to sell the club once BIHL had resumed trading, Pannu said: “I believe it may be his (and the shareholders’) ultimate intention.
He added: “However, he is working to his own strategy on how to achieve this.
